According to the latest report by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the Children’s Hospital Association, about 350,000 children in the US have been confirmed with Covid-19 in the last four weeks.
About 86,600 children tested positive for COVID-19 during the week ending August 25, an increase of 9 percent compared to a week earlier, Xinhua news agency reported on Monday.
According to the report, more than 14.4 million infected children have been confirmed with the corona virus since the beginning of the epidemic.
About 6.6 Million Reported Cases Have Been Added in 2022
The new forms should assess the severity of the disease as well as the potential long-term effects, the AAP said.
“We need to identify and address the long-lasting impacts on the physical, mental and social well-being of this generation of children and youth,” the AAP said.
A total of 96,091,120 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed in the US so far. At the same time, 1,069,499 deaths have been registered.
