Mexico’s President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said a 6.9-magnitude earthquake struck central Mexico early Thursday, killing at least two people, following a 7.7-magnitude quake on Monday.

López Obrador told reporters at the National Palace in Mexico City that a woman fell down the stairs of her home after the earthquake, killing her, while another man suffered a heart attack, Xinhua news agency reported. Death happened.

The President said that apart from the death of two people, no major damage has been reported at this time.

The tremors of the earthquake were felt at 1:16 pm local time on Thursday. Its center was 84 km south of Colcomán Municipality in the state of Michoacán.

Hundreds of people left homes and buildings on Thursday after seismic alerts were activated in some areas of Mexico. There were reports of power outages in some other areas during this period.
