AIIMS Delhi gets new director

The Director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (Aktara), the largest medical institute across the country, has been announced.

Dr. M. Srinivas, Dean, ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Hyderabad has been appointed as Director, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.

Dr. Srinivas is currently the Dean of Employees’ State Insurance Corporation Hospital and Medical College (ESIC Hospital) in Hyderabad. He has been appointed for a term of 5 years or till he attains the age of 65 years or till further orders, whichever is earlier.

Dr. Srinivas was Professor in the Department of Pediatric Surgery at AIIMS, Delhi before joining ESIC Hospital and Medical College in Hyderabad in 2016.

An official statement from the Ministry of Personnel, Pensions and Public Grievances said that- Dr. M. Srinivas, Dean, ESIC, Medical College and Hospital, Sanath Nagar, Hyderabad as Director, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.

Got appointment on the pay scale of Rs.25,000/-. Apart from this, the NPA will get 20 percent of the basic salary.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposals, which were announced today on Friday.

The tenure of incumbent AIIMS, Delhi director Randeep Guleria, which was till March 24, has got two extensions in the post, which ends on Friday (23 September). Guleria was appointed as the director on March 28, 2017 for a period of five years.
