Apple Hires Lamborghini Executive For EV Program

In a bid to boost its electric autonomous vehicle program, tech giant Apple has hired Luigi Taraborrelli, a veteran of carmaker Lamborghini, media reports have said. TechCrunch is quoted by Bloomberg as reporting that according to Taraborrelli’s LinkedIn profile, the executive left Lamborghini in May.

Taraborrelli Worked At Lamborghini For Almost 21 Years

During his tenure at the company, Taraborelli worked on Lamborghini’s Urus SUV, Huracan Coupe, Performate and Aventador Coupe, among other cars. He also worked on a few limited series projects such as Lamborghini Strato.

The report said the recruitment of Taraborelli, along with a few others in recent months, shows that Apple is still committed to building an electric car.

Apple’s so-called Project Titan has had its ups and downs since its 2014 launch. The project has been delayed time and again and the company has even reduced the size of the team at one point.

However, Apple has made some key appointments over the past year, including tapping Kevin Lynch, one of its top software executives, to oversee the project.

In May, Apple hired Desi Uzkachevic, a longtime Ford executive. He was most recently Global Director of Security Engineering.
