College students in Ktaka wearing hijabs were sent back

College students in Ktaka wearing hijabs were sent back.

Following the announcement by Karnataka Education Minister B.C. Nagesh that only uniforms are permitted inside classrooms, authorities at a college in Dakshina Kannada district sent hijab-clad students home on Saturday.

The incident occurred at Mangaluru University College. The college’s syndicate had decided to prohibit the wearing of the hijab. As a result, even though most Muslim students did not wear hijab to class on Saturday, 12 students did.
They insisted on allowing them to wear hijab to class.
However, the college principal barred them from attending classes and denied them access to the library, so the students returned home.
