The Delhi government on Tuesday directed three private hospitals to set up 30 isolation rooms for Monkeypox Cases. In a notification by the Delhi Directorate General of Health Services, three private hospitals – Kailash Deepak Hospital, MD City Hospital and Batra Hospital and Research Center each have been asked to create 10 isolation rooms, out of which five are for management of suspected monkeypox cases. And five are for confirmed cases.

However, another suspected patient of monkeypox was admitted to the hospital on Monday night. At present, LNJP Hospital, (which is the nodal hospital for the treatment of monkeypox) has a total of three cases, including two suspected and one confirmed patient.

Union Health Minister Mandaviya on Tuesday, while responding to the steps taken by the government to create awareness in the Rajya Sabha, said that the government has constituted a task force and steps are also being taken to raise awareness about the disease. .

He appealed to the citizens not to panic as the central government is working in coordination with the state governments to control the spread of the virus.
