Aimed at helping Asian-owned businesses, tech giant Google has announced the launch of a new system that will be available on Search and Maps for entrepreneurs in the US.

US businesses can now add Asian-owned features to their business profiles on Search and Maps. In the coming weeks, ad-supported publishers will also be able to identify as Asian-owned in Display and Video 360’s marketplace.

Search’s Product Manager, Leanne Loos, said in a blogpost, “When we were building this feature, we worked with hundreds of Asian-owned businesses to ensure the feature supports our diverse and unique cultures. “

Businesses can opt-in to adopt the feature on their Business Profile and can easily opt-out at any time. Users will also be able to view the attribute once it appears on the Business Profile.

The update builds on Black-owned, Latino-owned, Veteran-owned, women-owned, and LGBTQ Plus-owned business features and is another way that people can enjoy the diversity of Google’s products and businesses on the platform. can support.

Over the past few years, Grow With Google has partnered with the US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce (USPAACC) to help Asian-owned small businesses grow.

Google said it helped more than 20,000 Asian-owned businesses expand their digital skills through workshops focused on topics such as e-commerce tools, design thinking for entrepreneurs and decision making using analytics .

“Today, we are building on that partnership. The USPAACC and Grow With Google will help an additional 10,000 Asian-owned small businesses acquire digital skills to help them grow their businesses,” the company said.
