Herald House sealed after ED raids in New Delhi

In connection with its ongoing investigation into money laundering connected to the National Herald newspaper, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday sealed the Young Indian Pvt Ltd (YI) office at Herald House on Delhi’s Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, according to people familiar with the situation. Officers said that the “temporary seal” was in place at the YI office to protect any evidence that could not be gathered during Tuesday’s raids owing to the absence of the company’s authorized representative.

A member of the ED claimed that Congressman Mallikarjun Kharge, the chief executive of YI, visited Herald House on Tuesday while raids were taking place but fled before any evidence could be gathered. “He (Kharge) has received a summons to search.
