India is celebrating the 75th Independence Day of the country with the zeal and enthusiasm of patriotism. Police in the national capital made tight security arrangements, especially at the Red Fort, from where Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation. The police installed over 1,000 high-resolution CCTV cameras around the Red Fort to tackle any threat.

Notably, in view of the Independence Day, the city is under heavy security since intelligence agencies received information about a possible terror attack.

The Intelligence Bureau (IB) has issued five new alerts warning of a possible terror attack in Delhi and several cities.

Law enforcement agencies have been warned that terrorists may use IEDs during the flag hoisting ceremony at the Red Fort on August 15.

In such a situation, to counter any threat, the Defense Research and Development Organization installed an anti-drone system near the Red Fort.

A DRDO official said the system has the capability to detect and deactivate multiple drones at the same time within a radius of about 4 km with the help of a jammer.

From the night of August 14, the police was seen doing a thorough checking of all the vehicles coming towards the Red Fort area.

Apart from the tight security mechanism, the security personnel also maintained the COVID protocol in the Red Fort complex.

Masks and sanitizers were given to the people attending the function, while the seating arrangement was made in such a way that there is a distance of at least 3 feet between two chairs.
