Instagram Testing New Full-Screen Mode for Feed


Meta-owned Instagram is testing a new full-screen mode for its feed and an updated navigation bar, with an aim to make content on the platform more discoverable and immersive.

The trial, which has been rolled out for a ‘limited number of people’, is the platform’s latest attempt to compete with TikTok, according to Meta spokesperson Sean Kim, The Verge reports.

The report mentions that if you’re part of that group, you’ll be able to watch videos almost full screen while scrolling through your feed (the navigation bar will still appear below them).

The company has previously experimented with full screen on the feed.

It also left the main navigation bar at the bottom, while the company says it plans to Test shortcuts for creating posts or messages there.
