Kerala Two Students of Lower Primary School Test Positive For Norovirus


Norovirus has become a matter of concern amidst increasing cases of corona virus. Two students of Lower Primary School in Vizhinjam, Thiruvananthapuram have tested positive for Norovirus.

According to the information, 42 students were admitted to the hospital after complaining of diarrhea and vomiting, when their samples were examined, the report of two students came out to be norovirus positive.

State health department officials said norovirus is spread through contaminated food and water.

Health officials said norovirus usually lasts for two days, but does not have much of an effect.

Health officials said that a person suffering from norovirus may complain of dehydration. The body remains weak for a week after recovering from the infection.

The National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that regular hand washing should be done to protect against norovirus.

Fruits and vegetables should be washed thoroughly in hot water before using them.
