Shiv Sena cabinet minister Eknath Shinde, who raised the flag of rebellion, has the support of 34 MLAs. This claim has been made by his supporter and Minister of State Omprakash Babarao Kadu.
Kadu of Prahar Janshakti Party (PJP) said the number of MLAs supporting Shinde is increasing and may even cross 40.
The political drama of Maharashtra is shifting from Surat in Gujarat to the northeastern state of Assam.
Talking to a private Marathi channel, Kadu said, “Whatever decision Shinde takes will be acceptable to all of us.”
Kadu said he did not leave the Shiv Sena nor rebelled against the party. He told that Shinde has said that 40 MLAs are with him, who left for Guwahati early on Wednesday from Surat.
However, Shiv Sena and Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) refused to comment on the issue and claims that many MLAs will return to the party soon.
Shiv Sena’s chief spokesperson and MP Sanjay Raut said the party team had gone to meet Shinde on Tuesday and his words were heard. He had some issues which we will discuss. We have always fought and will continue to fight.
