By Far the Number of Monkeypox Cases in the US is the Highest in the World
CDC director Rochelle Walensky said cases of monkeypox are still on the rise nationally, but the pace of the outbreak appears to be slowing.
According to a report in CBS News, US officials said additional monkeypox vaccines could be made available to the public as soon as September.
The Biden administration is facing criticism over its response to the monkeypox outbreak, including its failure to order enough vaccines, speed treatments and provide tests to contain the outbreak.
“We should have been able to prevent monkeypox had it been detected earlier and already had tests, a safe vaccine, and an effective treatment,” a report in The Hill said.
