Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan said the nexus between PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and former President Asif Ali Zardari has destroyed the country’s economy.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman made the remarks during a meeting of party leaders in Islamabad, The Express Tribune reported.

Stating that the collapse of the economy is causing irreparable damage, he reiterated that the only way out of the political turmoil is through immediate and transparent general elections in the country.

Khan, who was removed from the post of Prime Minister through a no-confidence motion in April, said the present government was concerned about staying in power, not worrying about the situation in the country, The Express Tribune reported.

“Everyone Has Seen What Happened in Punjab (By-Polls). The Nation Will Thwart Their Conspiracies,” He Said

According to sources, future political strategy and postponement of local body elections in Sindh were also discussed during the meeting, which was attended by Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Asad Umar, Fawad Chaudhry and Shireen Mazari.

Choudhary said that the institutions of the state are caught in a vortex due to the mistakes of their leadership and if they had stayed within their limits, nothing negative would have happened.
