Number of dengue patients increased in Bihar, Aedes mosquito larvae will be tested

After the increase in dengue patients in Bihar, now the health department has become alert.

The number of dengue patients in Patna has reached close to 500. Here, for effective prevention of Dengue and Chikungunya, it has been decided to test ADG mosquito larvae for 360 days in the most affected district of Patna.

According to the data of the Health Department, 57 new dengue patients have been found in the investigation conducted in three government hospitals on Wednesday.

According to the information received from the Civil Surgeon’s office, the number of dengue patients in the district so far this season has gone up to 493.

Dengue Cases have increased by more than two and a half times in Patna district within the last 10 days.

According to the data received from the Civil Surgeon’s office, 10 days ago till September 11, 189 patients of dengue were found, while this number increased to 493 on September 21.

Most of these patients are being treated in PMCH, IGIMS, NMCH and Patna AIIMS, while the rest are admitted in private hospitals.

Here, the Health Department and the Municipal Corporation have now decided to test ADG mosquito larvae for 360 days in the most affected district of Patna for effective prevention of Dengue and Chikungunya.

An official said that in the least affected districts, the said investigation will be carried out in 120 working days.

He said that to prevent dengue disease, door-to-door detection of larvae of Aedes mosquito would be carried out in all the affected districts of the state.

Patna Civil Surgeon Dr KK Rai said that the doctors in-charge of the primary health centers and sub-divisional hospitals of the district have been alerted about dengue.

Orders have been issued to the doctors that even if mild symptoms are found in any patient, then he should get tested for dengue.

Dengue related medicines have been made available in health centres. Meanwhile, dengue has started spreading in other districts as well. More than 300 dengue patients have been reported in Nalanda district.
