Playing against a good team gives a lot of confidence: Mohammed Siraj

India pacer Mohammed Siraj is one of the few players to have enhanced his reputation in ODI cricket with a 2-1 series win over South Africa. In the three-match series, Siraj took five wickets, including two in a seven-wicket win in New Delhi on Tuesday, in the series decider where South Africa were bowled out for just 99 runs, being adjudged player of the series.

Siraj said, “Performing against a good team gives you a lot of confidence. I had to take the responsibility. I try to find the right length at the start of the innings. As a fast bowler, you have that fire inside you.” More passion is needed. I am happy for my performance and getting this player of the series award.”

Shubman Gill’s stroke-filled 49 cut India’s target of 100 runs short. He admitted that when India were just a few runs away from chasing the target, it was disappointing to be dismissed lbw. But Gill, who scored 80 runs in three innings, was happy with India’s impressive comeback after a nine-run loss in Lucknow.
