For the last rites of Samajwadi Party (SP) patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav, several arrangements such as several helipads, water proof pandals and an unprecedented police arrangement have been made in his native village Saifai.
The Last Rites of the Late Leader will Take Place on Tuesday Afternoon
A large number of prominent personalities will attend the last rites of the late leader.
A senior district official said, “At present we cannot disclose the names but the probable list includes many top leaders from the Center and the state.”
The workers were engaged overnight in preparing the cremation ground, parking space and helipad.
SP general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav said, “The body will be brought to a ‘pandal’ for the last darshan on Tuesday morning. It will be taken to the cremation ground around 3 pm.”
“The last rites will take place at the family crematorium, also known as ‘Samadhi Sthal’, near the Saifai Mahotsav site. It is also where Mulayam Singh’s brother Ratan Singh Yadav was cremated,” he said.
Sandalwood pyre is being prepared for his last rites and party workers and perfume traders are reaching Saifai from Kannauj with sandalwood and flowers.
