Punjab Kings’ Stormy Bowler Harpreet Brar Learning to Bat

Harpreet Brar

Punjab Kings left-arm spinner Harpreet Brar said that he wants to be a good all-rounder like Ravichandran Ashwin and Rashid Khan and also try his hand at batting.

On May 22, Brar broke the back of the team’s batsmen by picking up the wickets of Rahul Tripathi, Abhishek Sharma and Aiden Markram against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Wankhede Stadium.

Brar took just one wicket in four matches, but against Hyderabad, he changed the course of the match.

The 26-year-old spinner said that if he improves his batting too, it will be a bonus for the team.

Brar said that of course, I am playing as a bowler for the team. I have a prominent place in the team. But if a bowler can bat, it is always a bonus point.

I am working on my batting right now and I have improved a lot in the last two-three months.

Brar says that if I get a good start with batting in a game, then I will definitely try my best to do well in batting. I have learned a lot of new things here, I will go back home and work on them.

He also said that the result of this season did not go in favor of Punjab Kings. The team finished sixth with seven wins and as many losses. The important thing is to learn from these rather than to be discouraged.

Brar further said that we tried our best, but the results did not come in our favor.

We feel bad about it, but as a player, we learn from these experiences. We will work on it and implement them in our future games.
