Indian Super League (ISL) side Chennaiyin FC on Tuesday announced that Rahim Ali has signed a new deal to extend his contract, according to which he will stay at the club till 2024. Rahim Ali is one of the members of the Chennaiyin team that reached the ISL final in the 2019-20 season. He played 40 matches for the club in three years.
On being committed to the club for two more years, Rahim Ali said, “I am very pleased to have signed a new contract with Chennaiyin FC.”
The forward player was also a part of the famous team that participated in the Under-17 World Cup in India in 2017. He made three appearances, including one start against Columbia Under-17s.
Rahim has also made 31 appearances for the I-League outfit Indian Arrows FC, which is largely considered the home of some of India’s biggest young talent.
The 22-year-old is also a current member of the Indian national team, having made six appearances since his debut in September 2021.
Co-Owner Vita Dani said, “Over the years Rahim has molded himself into one of the most exciting young talent in the country. Valuable experience with the Indian national team and youngsters, their expansion is a huge positive for our team. Is.”
Rahim was also part of the team that won the SAFF Championship in 2021, helping India to their third and final goal in three matches, including the final against Nepal.
