The trading hours of various markets regulated by the Reserve Bank will be restored from April 18, which were in force during the pre-pandemic period.
It was announced on Monday. The opening hours of regulated financial markets will be restored to their pre-pandemic time of 9 am, an RBI statement said.
The trading hours for various markets regulated by the Reserve Bank were revised with effect from April 7, 2020, in view of the high level of operational vulnerabilities and health risks arising out of COVID-19.
Thereafter, trading hours were partially restored with effect from November 9, 2020, with the removal of operational constraints.
“With the substantial easing of restrictions on the movement of people and the functioning of offices, it has now been decided to restore their pre-pandemic timings for regulated financial markets from 9 am,” the statement said.
