Satyendar Jain, Delhi’s health minister, was detained by the Enforcement Directorate until June 9, the same day he was arrested in a money laundering case.
Jain was produced in the Rouse Avenue Court by the Arvind Kejriwal government in Delhi, where he holds various portfolios, including health, home, and power.
Special judge Geetanjali Goel remanded Jain in the custody of the ED, noting that his interrogation in custody was necessary to uncover the larger conspiracy. Senior advocate N Hari Haran represented Jain, while Solicitor General Tushar Mehta represented the central agency.
Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, said hours ago that the ED case against his cabinet colleague is a farzi, adding that his government “is honest and does not tolerate corruption.”
“We believe in the judiciary.” This farzi (fake) case will not last long. “We are on the path of truth,” Kejriwal said.
