Suryakumar’s Brilliant Batting Helped India Win By 7 Wickets Against West Indies

Eventually Suryakumar Yadav succeeded, batting in India’s top order. India beat West Indies by seven wickets in the third T20 International at Warner Park to take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series. Suryakumar scored 76 runs in 44 balls after Rohit Sharma retired hurt due to injury. India crossed West Indies’ score of 164 for five with the loss of just three wickets and with one over remaining.

All-Rounder Hardik Pandya Though Did Not Contribute Much with Bat or Ball But Crossed the 500-Run and 50-Wicket Mark

Pandya dismissed Brandon King after a fifty-run stand with Kyle Meyers and became the sixth Indian male player to take 50 T20I wickets. Ravindra Jadeja, who accomplished this feat in the last T20, was the last player to reach this landmark.

Hardik Pandya also earned the double honor of 500 by completing 50 T20 wickets and became the 11th player in India and 30th in the world to do so. Pandya has a total of 806 T20 runs to his name.

According to the ICC, among the male players to have achieved this double, Hardik is the youngest to make his T20I debut, having first played for India in 2016.

West Indies captain Nicholas Pooran lamented that his bowlers could not achieve quick success.

Pooran said, I felt that we had to take early wickets and we did not get early wickets. I thought we should have pulled it back early in the power-play but unfortunately, we didn’t get the wicket.

Brief scores: West Indies 164/5 in 20 overs (Kyle Meyers 73, Bhuvneshwar Kumar 2/35). India 165/3 in 19 overs (Suryakumar Yadav 76, Rishabh Pant 33 not out). India won the match by seven wickets.
