Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson’s team carried the score in the last five overs, where Jos Buttler looked to dominate the bowlers. Despite that, the team lost to Gujarat Titans by seven wickets.
Opener Jos Buttler (89 runs off 56 balls) and captain Samson (47 runs from 26 balls) played brilliant innings.
The 27-year-old captain said the way his team scored runs after being sent to bat was commendable, but winning the match chasing them was a great moment for the Gujarat team.
But Samson had no idea that Gujarat Titans, who came to play in the IPL for the first time, was in a different style. Every player is contributing to the team.
The Pandya-led side chased down the target with ease and won the match for the loss of three wickets and made it to the final of IPL 2022.
While the Royals will get one more chance to make it to the finals. The team will play the winner of the Eliminator in Qualifier 2 between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants.
Samson said, “The score was very good on that kind of pitch and he said that he had the option of giving the ball to leg-spinner Riyan Parag, but he decided not to get him over.”
