Traffic closed on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway due to landslide

The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway has been closed for traffic due to stone falls and landslides in Ramban. This information was given by the officials on Monday. Jammu and Kashmir traffic police said, “Jammu-Srinagar (NH-44) cafeteria, Meher, Ramban is blocked due to falling debris and stones. Besides, SSG road at Dras is also blocked due to cloud cover. The Mughal road has been opened for movement.”

The highway is the lifeline of Kashmir and the main road connecting the Valley to the rest of the country.

Trucks going to Kashmir pass through the highway laden with supplies of essential commodities and other vehicles and trucks carrying fruits from the valley to the rest of the country pass through this road.
