Traffic Jam, Water Logging Problem Due to Heavy Rains in Delhi

Due to the heavy rains in Delhi on Thursday, while people got relief from the scorching heat, on the other hand, problems like traffic jams and water logging also cropped up.

The rains brought down the temperature in the national capital, but brought normal life to a standstill.

Heavy traffic jam was observed at ITO, Ring Road, areas near Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, Barapullah, Delhi-Noida border, Chilla Border, UP Gate, Delhi-Gurugram Road and Palam.

Delhi Traffic Police said: “As per IMD report, there will be light to moderate intensity with thunderstorms and gusty winds in many areas of Delhi. Commuters are advised to plan their travel weather wise “

Apart From Traffic Jams, Water Logging Was Reported in All Low-Lying Areas of the City

“Water logging has been reported near Delhi-Meerut Expressway, Prahladpur Underpass, Zakhira Flyover, IP Estate, Vinod Nagar, Azadpur Market Underpass, Loni Road intersection and Pragati Maidan,” an official said.

Meanwhile, Flight Operations At IGI Airport Were Also Disrupted

According to airport officials, several flights were delayed while two flights were diverted to Amritsar and Jaipur.

The Indian Meteorological Department had announced the arrival of Southwest Monsoon in Delhi-NCR on Tuesday.
