According to the police report, investigation has revealed that the father and uncle of the girls with criminal background used to regularly harass them by drinking alcohol.

Police have registered a case based on the complaint of the girl’s mother and arrested the accused father and search is on for his uncle, who is absconding.

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Laxmi Niwas Mishra said Malkhan has been arrested on the complaint of the girls’ mother.

The police officer said that Malkhan’s four daughters and wife lived with him.

On Tuesday, two of his four daughters – Priyanka (21) and Sapna (19) – allegedly consumed poison. When their condition deteriorated, their mother Rekha admitted both to the Community Health Center in Baberu.

After first aid, the doctors referred both of them to Rani Durgavati Medical College, where Priyanka was declared brought dead on arrival.
