Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak has given three days to the Lucknow administration and police officials to prepare an action plan to improve the traffic system in the state capital.
Expressing displeasure over the traffic situation, Pathak questioned the officials as to why the traffic system was not improving despite having such a huge staff of police and administration.
Describing traffic jams as a serious problem, he said, “immediate efforts should be made to find a solution to the problem. Also, prepare an action plan to improve the traffic system and present it to me within three days.”
The Deputy Chief Minister said that traffic should be improved in areas like Gomti Nagar, Hazratganj, Kalidas Marg, Mahanagar, Station Road etc.
The traffic review comes days after senior High Court judges were stuck in traffic jams and the overall traffic management system in Lucknow collapsed.
