Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp is now rolling out the ability for some beta testers to add up to 1,024 participants in groups.
According to WABetainfo, the feature is available on WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS, but it is limited to a certain undefined number of beta testers.
The report mentions that if a user wants to check whether the feature is available on their WhatsApp account, they can try to create a group or add new participants to an existing one.
According to the report, WhatsApp is also developing new tools to give administrators more control over these large groups in the future, such as a list of pending participants and an approval system.
The company rolled out the new features in May with the ability to add up to 512 people in a group of 256.
Recently the platform has introduced another feature ‘WhatsApp Premium – Beta Tester’ for business accounts in some countries.
