Asteroid YR4 will miss the moon, too, NASA says

NASA has confirmed that Asteroid YR4, which had been projected to potentially collide with the Moon on December 22, 2032, will not impact the lunar surface. For several months, models indicated a small chance of an impact, raising concerns among astronomers and space enthusiasts alike. However, recent orbital calculations have reassured scientists that the asteroid will safely pass by the Moon without any collision. This development highlights the importance of continuous monitoring of near-Earth objects and their trajectories, as accurate predictions are crucial for planetary defense. The asteroid, though small, serves as a reminder of the countless celestial bodies orbiting our solar system that could pose threats to Earth and its natural satellites. NASA's ongoing tracking efforts ensure that any potential threats can be addressed promptly, ensuring the safety of both our planet and its celestial neighbors.
