Widespread Fog Disrupts Travel Across Northern India
Thick fog descended upon Delhi and numerous regions of North India on Saturday, severely impacting air travel operations. At Indira Gandhi International Airport, more than 100 flights experienced delays as morning visibility plummeted to almost nothing.
Weather Warnings Issued
The India Meteorological Department has released a yellow alert, forecasting persistent foggy weather for Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. Airlines are urging travelers to verify their flight's status prior to departing for the airport.
The adverse conditions also disrupted rail and road networks, leading to multiple train delays and creating dangerous driving situations on highways.
