UPSC Recommends One Additional Candidate from Reserve List for Civil Services 2024

The Union Public Service Commission has recommended one additional candidate, Veeragandham Lakshmi Sujitha, from the reserve list for the Civil Services Examination 2024 to fill a remaining vacancy in the General Category.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has recommended one additional candidate from the General Category to fill a remaining vacancy under the Civil Services Examination 2024. The recommendation comes from the consolidated reserve list maintained by the Commission following the main results declaration.

Background: Main Results and Reserve List

The Civil Services (Main) Examination 2024 results were originally declared on 22 April 2025, with UPSC recommending 1,009 candidates for 1,129 vacancies across various services including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and other Central Group A and Group B Services.

Subsequently, a reserve list of 114 candidates was issued on 28 October 2025, comprising candidates from multiple categories — 94 from the General category, 5 from the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), 13 from the Other Backward Classes (OBC), 1 from the Scheduled Castes (SC), and 1 from the Scheduled Tribes (ST).

New Recommendation

Based on the availability of a remaining vacancy, the Commission has now recommended the following candidate from the consolidated reserve list:

  • Veeragandham Lakshmi Sujitha — Roll No. 6206417 (General Category)

The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) will directly inform the selected candidate of their appointment to the relevant service.
