Bombay High Court Seeks Centre's Response On Domestic LPG Supply Concerns

The Bombay High Court has called upon the Central Government to address concerns regarding the supply of domestic liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders. A petition was filed highlighting that, despite government policies prioritizing household consumption, the availability of domestic LPG has been limited. The petitioners argue that this shortage affects numerous households reliant on LPG for cooking and other essential needs. The court's intervention underscores the growing frustration over inconsistent supply amid rising demand, particularly as many households have transitioned to using LPG as a primary fuel source. The ruling could prompt a review of current supply chain practices and policies to ensure that the needs of consumers are met adequately and sustainably.
