Central govt instructs states, UTs to monitor LPG supply, take strict action against black marketing

In a recent directive, the Central Government has urged all states and Union Territories to closely monitor the supply of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and to take stringent measures against black marketing. This comes in response to an increase in domestic LPG production, which has risen by approximately 25%, with current outputs being fully allocated for household use. The initiative aims to ensure that LPG is accessible and affordable for all consumers, especially in light of rising fuel prices and potential hoarding practices. The Petroleum Ministry's proactive approach is part of a broader strategy to combat illegal activities in the fuel sector and to promote fair distribution practices. Authorities have been instructed to enhance surveillance and reporting mechanisms to curb black market operations effectively. This move aligns with the government’s ongoing efforts to improve energy security and consumer protection in the country, reflecting its commitment to uphold market integrity and safeguard the interests of the general public.
