Earthquake hits Jammu and Kashmir's Doda
In the early hours of Sunday, a 4.2 magnitude earthquake was recorded in the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir. The tremor, which occurred at 1:25 AM, was centered about five kilometers beneath the earth's surface. Officials from the Meteorological Department confirmed the geographical coordinates of the epicenter as 33.08 degrees north latitude and 76.17 degrees east longitude. Fortunately, there have been no reports of damage or injuries resulting from the quake, indicating that the region's infrastructure may have withstood the seismic activity. Earthquakes are not uncommon in the Himalayan region due to its tectonic settings, making residents and authorities vigilant in monitoring such incidents.
