ECB push back at Pakistan 'shadow-ban' reports ahead of Hundred auction

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has formally addressed concerns regarding the alleged 'shadow-ban' of Pakistani players ahead of The Hundred auction scheduled for March. Reports had emerged suggesting that the ECB was intentionally limiting the participation of Pakistani cricketers in this high-profile tournament. However, the board clarified that over 50 players from Pakistan have registered to take part in the event, out of a total of 950 registered players. This statement aims to dispel the notion that there is a discriminatory policy against Pakistani players, emphasizing the ECB's commitment to inclusivity in cricket. The Hundred, which features a unique format designed to attract a wider audience, continues to draw international talent, and the involvement of Pakistani players is seen as a significant enhancement to the competition. As the auction approaches, the ECB is keen to ensure transparency and fairness in the selection process, reinforcing its stance against any form of bias in player selection.
