Govt Directs Refiners To Maximise Domestic LPG Output, Supply Only To OMCs IOCL, BPCL, HPCL

In a strategic move to enhance domestic liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) production, the Indian government has directed oil refiners to prioritize the output of critical gases such as propane and butane. This directive aims to ensure that households across the country receive a steady and sufficient supply of LPG, particularly as demand continues to rise. The government has specified that all domestic LPG supplies must be allocated exclusively to major oil marketing companies (OMCs) including Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL). This initiative is part of a broader effort to bolster energy security and reduce dependence on imported fuels, while also addressing the increasing needs of domestic consumers. By streamlining production and distribution channels, the government seeks to enhance availability and affordability of LPG, which is essential for cooking and other household uses in India. These measures reflect the government's commitment to ensuring that essential resources are adequately managed to support the nation's growing energy demands.
