Gujarat news: 1,401 kg of adulterated paneer seized in Surat; food outlet was operating without licence, says FSSAI

In a significant crackdown on food safety violations, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has seized 1,401 kg of adulterated paneer from an unlicensed food manufacturing facility in Surat, Gujarat. The operation, which highlighted concerns regarding food safety regulations, revealed that the outlet had been operating without the necessary licenses, posing potential health risks to consumers. Following the seizure, samples of the paneer have been dispatched for testing to ascertain its safety for public consumption. This incident underscores the critical need for stringent enforcement of food safety standards in India, as the FSSAI continues to enhance its surveillance and regulatory measures to protect consumers from substandard food products. Authorities are urging consumers to remain vigilant and report any suspicious food practices to ensure public health is not compromised.
