LPG Booking Rule Changed? 45 Days Gap Must In Rural Area, 25 In Urban

The Indian government has revised the LPG booking regulations for domestic cylinders, mandating a mandatory wait time of 45 days for residents in rural areas and 25 days for those in urban areas. Despite these changes, the delivery timeline for LPG cylinders remains consistent with pre-crisis standards, retaining a delivery period of 2.5 days following a booking. This decision aims to streamline the distribution process and manage the increasing demand for LPG in light of rising consumption patterns across the country. The adjustments reflect ongoing efforts to ensure equitable access to cooking gas, particularly in rural regions where access has traditionally been more challenging. Stakeholders, including consumers and suppliers, are urged to adapt to the new booking intervals while remaining informed about the unchanged delivery timelines. These changes come amidst a broader context of energy policy reforms in India, aimed at improving energy access and reducing reliance on traditional biomass fuels.
