Manipur To Give Rs 10,000 Each To 3.5 Lakh Women Affected By 2023 Violence

In a significant move to aid those impacted by the violence in Manipur in 2023, the state government announced a financial support package for women affected by the unrest. Chief Minister Y Khemchand Singh revealed that approximately 3.5 lakh women will receive a one-time payment of Rs 10,000 each, amounting to a total budgetary allocation of Rs 350 crore. This initiative is part of the government's broader strategy to address the social and economic challenges faced by women in the aftermath of the conflict that has plagued the region. The unrest, which has deeply affected communities, has left many families in dire circumstances, and this financial assistance aims to provide immediate relief and support. This step is expected to not only provide critical financial support but also empower women, helping them regain stability and independence in their lives.
