MCA to name a stand after Ravi Shastri at Wankhede Stadium

The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has announced plans to honor former Indian cricketer Ravi Shastri by naming a stand at the iconic Wankhede Stadium after him. This tribute highlights Shastri's significant contributions to Indian cricket as a player, commentator, and coach. In addition to Shastri's recognition, the MCA will also dedicate three gates at the stadium to other cricketing legends: Dilip Sardesai, Eknath Solkar, and Diana Edulji. Sardesai is celebrated for his pivotal role in India's first Test victory, Solkar for his all-rounder skills, and Edulji for her groundbreaking contributions to women's cricket in India. This initiative reflects the MCA's commitment to honoring cricketing greats and preserving their legacy within the sport, ensuring that their contributions to Indian cricket continue to inspire future generations. The naming ceremony is expected to attract significant attention from cricket fans and serves as a reminder of the rich history associated with Wankhede Stadium, a venue that has hosted numerous memorable cricketing moments, including World Cup finals and historic matches.
