No LPG shortage, no dry-out at dealers, says Oil Ministry as panic buying pushes bookings to 75.7 lakh

In response to rising concerns over LPG availability amidst escalating tensions in West Asia, the Oil Ministry has clarified that there is no shortage of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in India. The ministry reported a significant 30% increase in domestic LPG production, countering fears that panic buying would lead to supply issues. This surge in demand has led to bookings reaching an unprecedented 75.7 lakh cylinders. The ministry emphasized that dealers are well-stocked and assured consumers that they will not face a dry-out situation. Officials urged the public not to engage in panic buying, highlighting that the current supply chain remains stable and capable of meeting the demand. The assurance comes at a critical time, as geopolitical events often prompt anxiety among consumers regarding essential commodities. The Oil Ministry's proactive communication aims to restore confidence among consumers and maintain a steady supply of LPG across the country.
