No Shortage Of Fertilisers, Adequate Provision Made: Nirmala Sitharaman

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman assured that there is no shortage of fertilizers in India and emphasized that sufficient provisions have been made to ensure their availability. Speaking at a press conference, she highlighted the significance of the Rs 1 lakh crore Economic Stabilisation Fund, which aims to provide the government with the fiscal capacity to tackle various global economic challenges. This fund is designed to bolster India's response to external pressures, particularly those posed by global market fluctuations and supply chain disruptions. Sitharaman's remarks come at a crucial time when farmers have been concerned about fertilizer access amid rising costs and supply issues stemming from the pandemic and geopolitical tensions. The government remains committed to supporting the agricultural sector, which is vital for the country's economy, by ensuring that essential inputs like fertilizers are readily available to farmers across the nation.
