‘Shooting at things that can shoot at us’: US says Iran’s air defences, Navy have been obliterated

In a significant escalation of military tensions, Admiral Brad Cooper of the US Navy revealed that Iran's defensive capabilities have been severely compromised. He reported that Iran's air defense systems have been heavily degraded and that its naval fleet is largely incapacitated, with 17 vessels reportedly sunk and no operational ships remaining in critical waterways. In total, over 2,000 Iranian targets have been targeted and hit by US forces. This statement follows Iran's claim of having struck an American destroyer in the Indian Ocean, indicating a challenging and volatile maritime security landscape. The ongoing conflict highlights the heightened risks in the region as both nations engage in confrontational postures amid broader geopolitical tensions.
