SpiceJet Adds 10 Aircraft, Aims For 300 Daily Flights By Winter 2026

SpiceJet has announced its ambitious plan to expand its fleet by adding 10 new aircraft as part of a broader strategy to increase its operational capacity. Following the approval from its board to gradually enhance its fleet to a total of 60 aircraft, the airline aims to reach a target of 300 daily flights by the winter of 2026. This expansion will incorporate both wet and damp lease agreements, which allow for the leasing of aircraft along with crew and maintenance services. Additionally, the airline will begin the phased reactivation of previously grounded aircraft to support its operational needs. This move comes in response to the growing demand for air travel in India, as the aviation sector continues to recover from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. With this fleet expansion, SpiceJet intends to strengthen its market position and enhance its service offerings, catering to the increasing passenger traffic as the industry rebounds. The airline's strategic planning reflects a commitment to improving its operational efficiency and meeting future travel demands.
