Students At 500 Universities To Design Semiconductor Chips: Ashwini Vaishnaw

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced a significant initiative aimed at bridging the talent gap in India's semiconductor sector. During a recent address, he stated that students from 500 universities will participate in designing semiconductor chips, a move intended to harness the growing global demand for semiconductor technology. As the global semiconductor market is projected to expand from USD 800-900 billion to a staggering USD 1-2 trillion, Vaishnaw emphasized the urgency of addressing the two-million talent shortage in this field. This initiative reflects the Indian government's commitment to nurturing skilled professionals who can meet the demands of a rapidly evolving industry. By fostering education and hands-on experience in semiconductor design, the government aims to position India as a key player in the global semiconductor supply chain, ultimately contributing to economic growth and technological advancement in the country.
