Two Indians killed, 10 injured after attack in Muscat, says MEA

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed that two Indian nationals lost their lives and ten others sustained injuries in an attack in Sohar, Muscat. Aseem Mahajan, Additional Secretary (Gulf), provided the update on Friday, emphasizing the ministry's commitment to ensuring the safety of Indian citizens abroad. The attack, details of which remain sparse, has raised concerns regarding the security of expatriates in the region. Authorities are currently investigating the incident, and the MEA is in touch with local officials to gather more information. This tragic event highlights the ongoing risks faced by Indian workers in the Gulf, where millions reside for employment opportunities. The Indian government has been proactive in addressing the safety and welfare of its citizens overseas, particularly in Gulf nations. In light of this incident, Indian expats are urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to local authorities. The MEA is also expected to extend support to the affected families and coordinate with local agencies for further assistance.
