Two Indians killed, one missing after attacks on merchant vessels amid West Asia conflict: MEA

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) of India confirmed that two Indian nationals have lost their lives and one is currently unaccounted for following recent assaults on merchant vessels in the conflict-ridden waters of West Asia. The MEA has emphasized its commitment to safeguarding Indian citizens amid escalating tensions in the region. As part of its response, the government is closely monitoring the safety of 28 Indian ships operating in the Persian Gulf, which are carrying a total of 778 seafarers. Additionally, the ministry is coordinating with local authorities to provide necessary assistance and ensure the well-being of those affected. The situation has sparked concerns over maritime security in the region, highlighting the ongoing risks posed by the regional conflicts and their implications for international shipping routes. The Indian government’s proactive measures aim to reassure families of seafarers and maintain a vigilant approach in these challenging circumstances.
