2 Indians On 'Donkey Route' Redirected To Azerbaijan, Tortured On Livestream

Two men from Anand district in Gujarat embarked on an illegal migration journey to the United States via the perilous 'Donkey Route.' However, their attempt took a harrowing turn when they were captured in Azerbaijan. Described by their families as being held in dungeon-like conditions, the men endured torture, which was even livestreamed, drawing widespread condemnation. Following a diplomatic intervention, they have now returned home. This incident highlights the dangers associated with illegal migration routes and raises concerns about the treatment of migrants in foreign countries. Indian authorities are urged to take further steps to protect citizens from such risks and to address the underlying issues driving illegal migration.
