About 11% food samples fail safety tests in Uttarakhand in 3 years: Govt

In a recent report presented to the Uttarakhand Assembly, the state government revealed that approximately 11% of food samples tested over the past three years failed to meet safety standards. Out of a total of 4,909 samples analyzed, 524 were classified as substandard, unsafe, or misbranded. This alarming statistic highlights ongoing concerns about food safety and quality in the region. The government has been under scrutiny for its ability to regulate food safety effectively, especially in light of rising consumer awareness and health consciousness. The findings may prompt increased calls for stricter monitoring and enforcement of food safety regulations across the state to protect public health and ensure compliance among food suppliers. As the state continues to grapple with these challenges, the government is expected to take further steps to enhance food safety measures and improve the overall quality of food products available to consumers.
