Airtel Partners With Google to Offer AI-Powered Spam Protection for RCS Messaging in India

Bharti Airtel has announced a collaboration with Google to enhance the security of Rich Communication Services (RCS) messaging in India, targeting the growing concerns of spam and digital fraud. This new service, which can be accessed through the Google Messages app on Android devices, utilizes Airtel's advanced AI-powered spam detection technology integrated with Google's RCS platform. Airtel reports significant achievements in combating spam, having blocked 71 billion spam calls and 2.9 billion spam SMS messages over the past 18 months, resulting in a 68.7% reduction in financial losses due to such activities. The enhanced RCS messaging solution will offer features such as sender verification, enforcement of Do Not Disturb (DND) regulations, filtering of malicious links, and AI-driven spam controls, thereby providing users with a more secure messaging environment. This partnership highlights the increasing importance of digital security in communication services, especially in a country where mobile messaging is a primary mode of communication for millions.
